Rain is on the wind. The taste chills the back of his throat, fresh and cold. Gray clouds obscure the sun, darken his already limited vision. Red eyes stare into his, squinting just as he does, trying to overcome the shadows. The eyes are pained, crimson with need and the bitter hurt of trust betrayed.
The eyes don't leave his as the gloved fist connects with his jaw. He sprawls on the damp earth, hands splayed out behind him and pants soaking up the moisture, gaze still stolen by the burning crimson...

Recently I did an interesting thing. Yes yes, I hear you all gasp in shock and murmur amongst yourselves. I know it's unusual, but there's a first time for everything, right? Anyshoe, the interesting thing I did was joining an LJ community, specifically one designed to exercise people's writing ability. Each week a challenge is posted and you can write a slash fic for it, any fandom. To see said community, go here. Tis a wonderful place full of wonderful people, which makes it so wonderful. So far I've been there two weeks and have written two responses. Not bad, considering my normal productivity level.
What separates them from my other fics, aside from their sometimes experimental nature, is their size. They're not long enough for me to consider full, deserve-their-own-page-type fics. Hence, this. Enjoy the horrible little badly-written things ^_^;;;.

3/24/03: All the Luck

Challenge- Show-not-tell jealousy. To show jealousy without using any vocabulary in the same family as that word.
Time Limit-1 hour. Written in about 30 minutes.
Author's Notes: Could be considered part of the WYRN/Stellar storyline ^_^.

Challenge- At least three scenes, in which the last word of one scene becomes the first word of the next scene, and the first word of the fic becomes the last.
Time Limit- 1 hour 30 minutes. Written in about 54 minutes.
Author's Notes: Named for and inspired by the Evanescence song 'Hello'. Yet the lyrics have absolutely nothing to do with this. Go figure. Angst, WHOO!
4/6/03: Mallrats

Warnings- Slash, duh :P
Challenge- Imperfect sex! Doesn't have to actually get into the sex, it can be interrupted, but the plot has to focus on the sex and what goes wrong. Fuuuuuun XD.
Time Limit- 60 minutes. Written in just about that, two sittings.
Author's Notes: Another in the WYRN/Stellar storyline. Can't get enough of Zim and Dib in that one XD. Fluffy-naughty PWP!

9/26/03: The Best Moment of His Life

Time Limit- Done in an hour and 15 min., just a tiny tiny bit over the time limit.
Author's Notes: This is proof that my angst-muses still like me. This one's probably cliche, melodramatic, and I KNOW is horribly angsty. I love it anyway.
